Job Description

$70,000+ per year (salary based on education, experience, and skill)

Grace Health is looking for an experienced Medical Practice Manager and/or highly motivated RN/LPN/MA  to provide leadership over assigned clinical departments. Management experience is preferred: however, we are willing to provide practical training for someone interested in developing their management skills and improve their nursing leadership skillset. The apprenticeship-type training is reserved for someone with a professional goal of excelling in medical practice management at Grace Health. Grace Health offers a competitive wage, an extensive benefits package, and a sign-on bonus!

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: (This list may not be all inclusive.)

  1. Establishes a clear direction for the department and motivates others to adopt the vision.
  2. Oversees the day-to-day functions of the department.
  3. Serves as a resource person for clinical issues and questions.
  4. Commits to a focus on continuous improvement of workflow processes and procedures. Identifies opportunities for process improvement, using efficient and cost-effective approaches, follows PDSA process for implementation of changes.
  5. Partners with all Managers of Clinical Services to:
    1. Evaluate and improve systems, forms, procedures, and methods used in providing clinical care.
    2. Establish and implement organizational policies and procedures, ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent across all departments.
  6. Partners with Support Services Managers/Directors to:
    1. Problem solve operational issues involving support services, such as patient schedules/access and daily flow, and involving all clinical managers as appropriate.
  7. Works with Director of Clinical Services to:
    1. Develop business and performance goals, strategies, benchmarking, and evaluation.
    2. Establish and implement organizational policies and procedures, ensuring that policies and procedures are consistent across all departments.
    3. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and leads in the management of the budget.
    4. Brainstorm/suggest strategies that promote practice growth, new revenue sources/increased revenue, and cost reduction.
    5. Anticipate future departmental/organizational needs and develop innovative partnerships.
  8. Maintains and evaluates data related to departmental performance, including productivity, staffing, and costs. Identify and implement opportunities for performance and financial improvement.
  9. Reviews and approves department supply requisitions.
  10. Assesses department needs, including interviewing, hiring, orientation, efficient work schedules, performance evaluations, promotions and merit increases, disciplinary procedures, training and education, assesses staffing patterns and recommends changes, including review and disposition of vacation and other requests for paid time off.
  11. Leads and develops staff by providing feedback, building skills and knowledge, and developing a high performing team. Identifies educational needs of staff.
  12. Participates in the development of goals and objectives for the quality improvement program. Works with department to achieve QI goals and establish strategies for improvement.
  13. Coordinates and shares internal resources with other departments.
  14. Maintains departmental communications by holding meetings and responding to written and/or verbal questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  15. Builds value-added relationships (internal and external).
  16. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  17. Maintains the strictest confidentiality.
  18. Performs related work as required and undertakes special projects as needed.
  19. Monitors time keeping functions and time card approval.
  20. Collaborates with other departments to maintain a high level of clinical care.
  21. Commits to the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of standards of patient care.
